We will be visiting Amsterdam (from the UK) for a long week-end Friday 27th to Monday 29th May. Can anyone suggest a moped or scooter rental agency that would be open and able to rent us a couple of bikes for Sunday 29th - rather than spending the whole time in the city centre we thought it would be fun to get out and about.

When you are visiting Holland, the hottest spot these days seems to be, however, Enschede. It attracts thousands of Dutch as well as foreign tourists. You can get information from the Amsterdam VVV, as well as from book stalls all across the town. If you rent motors you can make it to Enschede and back in one day. Harlan Hague heeft geschreven in bericht Amsterdam is great, but you are on the right track in getting out of town, especially now, and head for the tulip fields north of Amsterdam. I would urge you to rent bikes rather than motors, but since you have so little time, perhaps the motors would be the best bet. You can get information from the Amsterdam VVV or buy a map that identifies tulip fields. We returned last week from a biking holiday, and the tulip fields were fantastic. You'll be late for some of the fields, but perhaps some varieties will still be standing. Inquire locally.
