Question:
If sex shops are the pull here, then I'd have thought that gawking at the sex workers in windows in Amsterdam's red light district were an"attraction"- not looking at "sex shop" signs outside a building.

I live in a fairly ordinary and respectable area of The Hague, and from my front door there are 2 or 3 sex shops. I hate to say anything nice about Holland or the Dutch, but the shops attract no special interest whatsoever from anybody.

That's my point- they're not interesting. But I can sort of understand why narrow streets lined with sex workers in the window in Amsterdam are packed with tourists at night- it's something of a 'spectacle.'

Answer: If you're never seen something like that, I'd imagine it could beinteresting, but when I saw the red light district in Amsterdam, myreaction was: "What's the big deal? It looks like Times Square in the1980s.
